1 Bligh Street
1 Bligh Street rises as a sustainable architectural triumph in Sydney’s pulsating CBD, an elliptical 30-storey office tower at the intersection of Bligh and Bent Streets, mere steps from Circular Quay’s iconic harbour views. Conceived by Ingenhoven Architects in collaboration with Architectus, its innovative double-skin façade—featuring automated external louvres—optimises solar control, minimising heat gain while flooding interiors with diffused natural light. A soaring 120-metre full-height atrium serves as the building’s luminous spine, naturally ventilated and lined with glass lifts that foster a sense of connectivity among tenants across 27 premium levels of flexible office space.
The elliptical footprint, a nod to the converging city grids, creates expansive public plazas at ground level, extending Farrer Place with deep-soil landscaping and public art, including James Angus’s monumental aluminium sculpture. Sustainability is woven into every facet: a basement blackwater treatment plant recycles 90% of wastewater (supplemented by ‘sewage mining’ from city lines), rooftop solar panels, tri-generation energy systems, and chilled beam air conditioning that earned it 6 Star Green Star certification—the first for a Sydney office tower.
With 1,600 sqm efficient floor plates, cafés, a childcare centre and 96-space basement parking, 1 Bligh blends workplace excellence with urban harmony. Steps from Wynyard, Martin Place and Circular Quay stations, it anchors the financial district, offering seamless access to the Harbour Bridge, ferries and the city’s vibrant energy. Elegant, eco-conscious and effortlessly integrated, 1 Bligh Street redefines premium office living as a harmonious dialogue between innovation and its storied surrounds.
